How to find the Steinschaler Doerfl

by car coming from Vienna:

At the Autobahn A1 Exit St. Pölten - Süd (St. Poelten - South, at km 58), turn right onto the B20, direction Lilienfeld. At the 2nd traffic light (junction Spratzern) turn right into the Pielach Valley onto the B39, direction Obergrafendorf. Follow along on B39 appr. 32 kms until you arrive in Frankenfels.

In the center of Frankenfels at the drugstore "Schlecker" turn left (you will see a green sign: Steinschaler Doerfl). Now continue to drive steadily uphill, without turning into the settlements on the left or on the right. After appr. 2,5 km you will reach over a dome-shaped mountain-top (a shrine on the right side, a farmhouse on the left), after this you will reach a fork, where you drive sraight ahead (there is a sign Steinschaler Doerfl). After 1,3 km you will reach the Steinschaler Doerfl. After Frankenfels at every junction there is a sign.

The very well serviced entrance from national highway B39 via Frankenfels is easy to use also in wintertime. The road is regularly cleared of snow in the winter (and also salted).

Should your navigation system want to send you direction Schwarzenbach already before reaching Frankenfels, keep driving to the center of Frankenfels nevertheless and drive then as described above. You can reach the Steinschaler Doerfl also via Schwarzenbach, but that route has some parts that are only graveled, sometimes very narrow and there are no signs.

How to find us coming by car from direction Salzburg:

Leave the Autobahn A1 in Ybbs and drive direction Wieselburg / Scheibbs (Süden/South). After Scheibbs turn right onto the B28 via St. Anton and drive 7 kms. Here turn left to the B39 and drive until Frankenfels. In the center of Frankenfels, at the drugstore "Schlecker", turn right and drive further 4 km until reaching the Steinschaler Doerfl as described above.

There are sufficient clearly signposted parking spaces, please park your car outside of the Village Square and the Terrace, since these are communal areas.
